General Membership Meetings

General meetings are held throughout the year in February (Annual Meeting/Election and Awards Banquet), March, May, September, and November at various locations throughout the area. Meetings consist of a business meeting and a fun or educational program. General meetings provide the opportunity to meet and share experiences with fellow Golden lovers. Food and beverages are available at most meetings.

Board Meetings

The board meets bimonthly throughout the year to conduct club business. Members are welcome to attend board meetings but due to limited space are asked to contact one of the board members if they plan to attend an upcoming meeting.

Field Events

The club hosts one or more Fun Field Days in April, and a Hunt Test and WC/WCX Test in August. These are great opportunities to develop and demonstrate you and your companion's field skills. Anyone interested in working at the Hunt Test should review the following documents: AKC Hunting Test Procedures Manual, Hunt Test Job Descriptions, and Hunt Test Volunteer Opportunities.

BGRC Specialty

The club hosts a Specialty on the first Friday and Saturday of March. Golden Retrievers and their handlers compete in conformation and obedience events.

Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting and banquet is held in February at an area restaurant.

Recognition & Awards Program

The Recognition & Awards Program follows the annual meeting and banquet and recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of our members and their canine companions. Conformation, obedience, and field trophies are based on points earned during the year; recognition awards include the Hammerlock/Triple Phase Award, the Outstanding Producer Award, and Junior Handler Award; and achievement awards recognize new titles earned during the year.
