The Golden Retriever Club of America (GRCA) is a not-for-profit national Golden Retriever Club dedicated to the betterment of the health, well-being and sporting events of the Golden Retriever. The organization promotes ethical and compassionate breeding, ownership and sporting practices. The American Kennel Club (AKC) is a not-for-profit organization that maintains a purebred dog registry, sanctions dog events, and promotes responsible dog ownership. The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) is a not-for-profit foundation established to collate and disseminate information concerning orthopedic and genetic disease of animals. PennHip (University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program) incorporates a new method for evaluating the integrity of the canine hip. It has great potential to lower the frequency of Canine Hip Dysplasia (CHD) when used as a selection criterion. A voluntary PennHIP database established by GRCA to assist breeders and puppy purchasers wishing to use PennHIP information in their breeding and buying decisions. The Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) is dedicated to the elimination of heritable eye disease in purebred dogs. The Golden Retriever Foundation founded in 1997 by the Golden Retriever Club of America to fund programs that further the welfare of the breed through research, rescue, and education. GRRoW (Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin) is dedicated to rescuing golden retirevers. Contact them for assistance or information on available dogs. Goldensafield is dedicated to enthusiasts who want to better the sport by improving the health, well-being, and functional longevity of the Golden Retriever and to disseminate information on research findings to those involved with the breed. The American Dog Owners Association preserves the special relationship between dogs and mankind by protecting and defending the rights of responsible dog onwership. Badgergold List is a private list available only to current members of the Badger Golden Retriever Club.
